In 2021, Lexi DiBenedetto began her role of Lori Loud, having filmed for the TV movie A Loud House Christmas, and since went on to play the character across both series of the live-action show The Really Loud House and A Really Haunted Loud House TV movie. The Really Loud House was shown on Nickelodeon and Paramount+, and Lexi worked closely with fellow on-screen family members including Wolfgang Schaeffer (Lincoln Loud), Sophia Woodward (Luna Loud), Eva Carlton (Leni Loud) and Lexi Janicek (Lisa Loud), with the final series recently airing. For Lexi’s first series regular role, she played Prudence in Nickelodeon’s Knight Squad, and she has attended the Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards a number of times. Lexi played Bianca Vonwright in Instant Mom – Series 3, and has had guest appearances in Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy and Criminal Minds. Answering our questions, Lexi told us about playing Lori Loud in The Really Loud House TV series and movies, her time as Prudence in Knight Squad and attending the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

You played Lori Loud in The Really Loud House across both series, how would you describe the character and what was the show like to be part of?

I would describe Lori as a caring, loyal, and protective big sister.

The Really Loud House was such a fun experience for me and allowed me to work with so many wonderful, creative people!

How was it playing the live-action version of Lori and what was it like getting into character?

Lori Loud is dramatic at times, which is super fun to play and I also relate to how dramatic she is! I would always focus on her love and support of her family and then focus on keeping my energy high and playful.

What was it like joining The Loud House franchise in 2021 and how was it seeing the fan response to the series?

The fan response was so heartwarming and I am endlessly grateful for everyone’s support of the entire franchise. I booked the role of Lori off of a single self-tape, so I was honestly a little surprised when I got the call! I didn’t have a producers session or any kind of Zoom. I actually found out I was being offered Lori Loud on my birthday – best birthday gift ever!

Did you have any favourite episodes to film over the years, and what are some of your stand-out highlights from your time on set?

I loved filming the drive through episode which is called Little Sisters’ Big Adventure. I had a blast getting to have dramatic meltdowns, but I also got to film really sweet scenes with some of the older sisters. Scenes that felt almost like what would be considered a core memory for Lori.

How did you find the experience working on the 2023 Halloween release A Really Haunted Loud House?

The costumes were incredible and all of the big dance numbers really helped me grow as a performer!

How was it filming for the TV movie A Loud House Christmas and how did you feel seeing it premiere on Nickelodeon/Paramount+ in 2021?

It felt really exciting. I loved the filming process! We filmed in Atlanta and I genuinely had such a great time overall. It was also cool to see the movie air on Nickelodeon and be streaming on Paramount+!

With The Really Loud House recently airing its final series, is there anything you think you will miss most about playing Lori and filming alongside your on-screen family?

As an actor, having consistent work is such a rare gift. So I will always miss getting to work weekly and I will miss so many of the wonderful people that made The Really Loud House possible. I am an only child in life, which makes me miss my Loud family even more!

Also for Nickelodeon, you played Prudence in Knight Squad, do you remember how you felt finding out you’d booked the role?

Prudence was my first time getting to be a series regular. I was overjoyed when I found out that I had booked it! Knight Squad taught me a lot.

What was Prudence like to play and how was it working alongside the rest of the cast?

Prudence was fun to play because she was so goofy. It was really freeing to get to play around so much with a character! I also loved my entire wardrobe on that show! Getting to work with the cast on a show that was fantasy-based was such a cool opportunity. It made me realise how much I enjoy the fantasy genre and hope to work on something fantasy again!

Do you have any favourite memories from filming Knight Squad that you can tell us about?

We had a lot of stunts on Knight Squad and that was probably my favourite part of filming. I loved getting to learn new things every week and practice fight choreography with the massive hammer that Prudence carried! I felt a little bit like a female Thor!

How was your time playing Bianca Vonwright in episodes of Instant Mom – Series 3?

Bianca was one of my first experiences really working in a comedy setting. I think that was really where I fell in love with working on a multi-camera show! It was in front of a live studio audience and the energy on that set was infectious!

What was it like having guest roles in Modern Family as Kylie, Grey’s Anatomy as Simmi Johnson and Criminal Minds as Sarah?

I am so grateful for all of those opportunities and had the most wonderful experience on all of those sets. My friends are always sending me screenshots of me in those shows. I also got to learn and grow with each one. All of those shows have all-star casts and I loved just getting to watch them all work.

You have attended the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards numerous times, what is the event like to attend?

The KCAs are so unique and fun! They are unlike any other awards shows! Who doesn’t love watching people get slimed?

How did you get into acting and was it something you always wanted to do professionally?

I have always adored acting. I originally started acting in my hometown of Wilmington, NC. I did a bunch of short film festivals, theatre, and commercials. A local casting director really encouraged my family to move to LA and give it a try. We ended up moving and I did a couple more short films in LA and lots of classes and workshops. After my first year, I was able to secure a manager and agent. I have actually been with my agent Jennifer since I was 12 and my manager Mara since I was 15. I was truly interested at a very young age and I’m so thankful my parents supported my dreams and helped me accomplish what I have so far. I hope this is what I get to do for the rest of my life.

What are some of your favourite films and TV shows to watch, and how do you like to spend your free time?

I will always rewatch New Girl or Gilmore Girls. They are my comfort shows! Most recently I finished Fall Out and Lioness. Those are both the types of shows that I’d love to be a part of one day. Or I’d love to do another comedy.

I spend most of my free time at the beach and hanging out with my friends, family, and my dog Finley! Fun fact: Finley flew to Albuquerque, NM with me to film The Really Loud House. He was always on set with me and would hang out in my trailer while we filmed!

What do you enjoy most about working in the acting industry, and can you tell us about some of your further roles?

I’m open to doing any kind of roles in the future! I think it would be exciting to be on a show that’s very different from what I’ve done in the past. But I also enjoy comedy so much that I will always be grateful to be on a sitcom!

I love acting, however, the industry itself can be a bit stressful. But I love bringing stories to life and having an outlet to express myself.

Do you have any projects coming up that you can talk about, and what are you hoping 2025 brings?

I’m hoping 2025 brings more work opportunities! The last couple of years have been so wonderful, I’d love to keep that same energy in 2025!
