Over the three series already released of the Canadian sitcom Children Ruin Everything, Logan Nicholson plays Felix – his first regular on-screen character – alongside a cast including his on-screen parents Astrid and James played by Meaghan Rath and Aaron Abrams, and sister Viv played by Mikayla SwamiNathan. The first two series of Children Ruin Everything are currently streaming on Netflix in the UK, and for Logan’s portrayal of Felix, he was nominated at the 2020 Joey Awards and 2023 Nova Star Awards. In Series 4 of Pinkalicious & Peterrific, Logan took over voicing the role of Peter Pinkerton – with Logan now in his third series with the show, and his further voiceover work includes starring as Caillou in the series of the same name (which recently had their screening party), Kevin in PJ Masks, and he made his voiceover debut as a number of different characters in the first two series of Blue’s Clues & You, which saw him be nominated for Best Performance Youth Artist – Voice Acting at the Young Artist Awards in 2020. Recently, we caught up with Logan about filming as Felix in the sitcom Children Ruin Everything, voicing Peter Pinkerton in Pinkalicious & Peterrific and starring as Caillou in the animation of the same name.

How would you describe your character Felix in Children Ruin Everything and what is he like to play?

Felix is a very silly, but smart character. He is very fun and energetic to play and he’s up for any challenges no matter what. He’s sensitive and likes to help out. He’s a lot like me in real life.

Do you remember how you felt finding out you’d booked the role and how is it having Felix as your first regular on-screen character?

Of course I remember! It was so amazing getting that phone call finding out that I had booked this amazing TV show and I was playing a great character. I was so happy and I had tears of joy. Best phone call ever!!

What is it like working alongside Meaghan Rath and Aaron Abrams as your parents Astrid and James, and Mikayla SwamiNathan as your sister Viv?

Meaghan is extremely great to work with on set, she is super talented and she’s always the one who tells such great jokes and I’m so glad I get to work with her on set.

Aaron, of course, is extremely nice and very funny. I like to play baseball with him off set and he is the goofy dad, I feel I have been learning a lot from both Meaghan and Aaron in these three years working with them.

Mikayla is such a nice TV sister to work with, and I always love talking to her and playing Roblox with her off set. It’s always an adventure playing with her. It’s fun having a little sister because I am the youngest of my family.

I also have a little brother now called Morris played by twins! It was challenging at times because they are so young and tired quickly! But they were so much fun, both with fun personalities!

How has it been developing the character across all three series and what is it like on set?

I feel that since it is a new generation, and Felix is getting more mature, he is coming across different stages of life that he doesn’t know how to deal with. Felix gets peer pressured a lot into cool things that his friends say and he feels he wants to fit in with his friends at school.

What do you enjoy most about playing Felix and what are some of your favourite highlights from working on Children Ruin Everything so far?

Felix seems like the kid who is always supporting his family and they can always count on him. That is a reason why I love playing this cool character and I am so lucky I got the chance to work with amazing people. My favourite highlights while being on the show is that I got to act with horses on set in one episode and sometimes getting into a little bit of trouble is fun too.

You were nominated at the 2022 Joey Awards and the 2023 Nova Star Awards for your portrayal of Felix, how did this feel?

I am so honoured to be on such an amazing show that is nominated for many awards in Canada.

As a voiceover actor, you star as Peter Pinkerton in Pinkalicious & Peterrific, how is it getting into character?

Usually I have to put on a bit of a raspy voice before I start reading my lines, because Peter is a little kid who just has that kind of voice. It’s so fun recording episodes as Peter, because Peter and Pinkalicious get to sing most episodes and I love to sing.

What was it like taking over the role of Peter in Series 4 and how did you prepare for your first day on the project?

How I prepared for the first day was I watched previous episodes of Pinkalicious & Peterrific just so I could get into the feeling of being Peter. But then I added a little bit of my magic into the character and I became Peter. I feel very honoured in taking over Peter because these past three seasons were very successful and I am very happy I get to continue being in this show.

Can you tell us about the series Caillou and how was it attending the recent screening party?

Caillou is one of my favourite characters because he gets to do so many fun adventures. Going to the recent screening party was a blast. We had Caillou cupcakes and Caillou popcorn and we got to watch a few of the episodes. I was very happy to hear myself in those episodes and meet my wonderful cast.

How is it starring as Caillou and was there anything that drew you to the role?

When I first got the audition for Caillou, I thought in my head, there is no possible way that I could book such an amazing character and such a popular TV show. When we got the email that said I booked Caillou, I was extremely happy and could not believe all the hard work that I’d put in to get this role that I had been dreaming for had paid off.

What is it like voicing Kevin in PJ Masks and PJ Masks: Power Heroes?

Kevin is a very mysterious role in PJ Masks and he’s pretty fun and very goofy too. He is not the pack leader in his group, but he participates in many adventures and helps his team throughout those adventures.

What was it like being part of Blue’s Clues & You across the first two series and being nominated for Best Performance Youth Artist – Voice Acting at the 2020 Young Artist Awards?

Being a part of the series Blue’s Clues & You was such a fantastic experience. It was my first-ever voiceover role! Being nominated for Best Performance Youth Artist in the Young Artist Awards was such an honour. The great part of being a part of Blue’s Clues & You was that I got to be so many different characters and shine through my talent.

How did you get into on-screen acting and voiceover and had you always wanted to do both professionally?

I started off as only liking on-screen acting because I love to see my face on TV. I also started doing theatre shows, and I knew I loved performing singing and dancing and portraying different characters in different shows. But then once I found out I could be a voiceover actor and be on many of my favourite cartoons, I knew I wanted to do it professionally.

Do you have any favourite films and TV shows to watch?

Well, of course, one of my favourite TV shows to watch is my own show Children Ruin Everything. Honestly, I don’t watch too many TV shows, but I do love to watch sports events, such as baseball, football, and basketball.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Some ways I spend my free time is playing video games with my friends or I like to play baseball or any type of game downstairs with my family. I also like to go on my phone and watch TikTok and YouTube. When I’m not memorising scripts or being on set, I’m just a regular normal kid going to school and having fun with my friends.

What are you hoping this year brings for you and do you have any projects coming up that you can share?

I am hoping this year I can book many projects, such as movies, animation films, and maybe a superhero!!

Yes, I do have projects coming up but unfortunately I am not allowed to say what those projects are. It is a secret 🤫
