Keaton Stromberg – The Simple Life

This album sounds more like a follow-up than a debut; it sounds like someone who knows their sound and knows exactly what the fans are after. However, this isn’t a follow-up album, this is the debut solo album from Emblem 3 member, 20-year-old Keaton Stromberg.

Despite Emblem 3 still going strong after a couple of speculations of a break-up, this didn’t stop Keaton from recording and releasing The Simple Life which sounds like an album taken straight from the top of the charts. With Stromberg’s flawless vocals, it is deemed near impossible to find a track not to fall in love with.

The album opens with title track The Simple Life which showcases a fast-paced melody and a catchy chorus. These feels can be seen throughout the rest of the album along with multiple acoustic tracks which sees mellow guitar playing from Keaton. Track 3, The Best of Me was written by Keaton, as was the full album, about the responsibility of fame and the need to stay grounded and illustrates this well. Closing track, You Will Not Be Forgotten, which was originally released in 2014, portrays a more slower and moving sound along with heartfelt vocals, making it a perfect ending to a brilliant album.
