This month saw the release of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, with Audrey Lynn-Marie playing Charlotte Emily in the supernatural horror film of the well-loved franchise, and she attended the Universal Pictures premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre for her premiere debut. Audrey is in the cast with Josh Hutcherson as starring role Mike Schmidt and Matthew Lillard as William Afton (both reprising their roles from the first film release in 2023), Skeet Ulrich as her on-screen father Henry Emily and Freddy Carter as Michael, with the film currently showing in cinemas across the UK. In the new romantic comedy film Merv, which released on Amazon Prime Video this month and stars Charlie Cox and Zooey Deschanel, Audrey plays Shauna – a student in Charlie’s character’s class, and in the 2024 thriller film Don’t Let Him Find You, Audrey played Charlie Forster. A further project for Audrey is short film 88.6, which is set to hit festivals in 2026, and alongside her friend Luke Speakman, she has started a podcast interviewing other child actors. We found out from Audrey about filming as Charlotte Emily in the new release of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, attending the Universal Pictures premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre this month and playing Shauna in the new romantic comedy film Merv.
In the new release of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, you can be seen as Charlotte Emily; how does it feel now the film is released and how has it been seeing the fan response?
It felt like the longest year ever waiting for it to come out! It has been so exciting being able to be a part of such a fun and passionate fan base. They have welcomed me with open arms, and I’m so glad they love Charlotte and seem to think I portrayed her well.
How would you describe Charlotte and what was it like taking on the character?
I think Charlotte is innocent and sad, but she is also selfless and brave, because she helps other people before herself. Taking on her character was a challenge, some scenes were pretty intense, but I am honoured I was given the opportunity to portray such a beloved character.
What was it like meeting the rest of the cast, which includes Josh Hutcherson reprising his starring role of Mike Schmidt, your on-screen father Skeet Ulrich as Henry Emily and Freddy Carter as Michael, and how was it filming opposite Matthew Lillard as William Afton?
Working on the same project with so many talented actors, for such a loved franchise, was a dream come true. The only person I didn’t get to officially meet was Freddy Carter, but I did pass him on his way to set. Josh Hutcherson and I got to chat about behind the scenes Hunger Games stuff (my favourite!). Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard are both so kind! Matthew always made sure we weren’t scared and explained everything he was going to do. I also got to do school with Piper Rubio and she’s so fun to be around!
How did you prepare for the role and what did you enjoy most about filming for a supernatural horror film and major well-loved franchise?
To prepare for the role, I actually had to research a lot about the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise and all the lore, especially surrounding Charlotte, because at that point I didn’t know much about it. I became a huge FNAF fan in the process of preparing to play Charlotte! I loved being on set and seeing all the behind the scenes things, like how the sets were built and all the work that goes into making a movie like this. It was also such a privilege to be able to work with and meet so many talented actors and crew members.
How did you find the experience attending the Universal Pictures premiere at TCL Chinese Theatre earlier this month in California?
This was actually my first premiere and my first time ever in California. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, but I really loved it!. The TCL Chinese Theatre was absolutely gorgeous and it was so cool to see all the film history there and the Walk of Fame. We stayed a few extra days and got to sight see a little more and go to Disney. The premiere itself was so much fun! I was really nervous walking through the crowd up to the carpet, but the second I stepped foot in front of the photographers, all my nerves went away and I was fine! I loved it. They invited so many fans, influencers, and cast, and had a really fun afterparty too.
Can you tell us about the new romantic comedy feature film Merv, which stars Charlie Cox and Zooey Deschanel (recently released on Amazon Prime Video), and about your character Shauna?
Merv is a rom-com starring Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox – they have broken up and find out that their dog is really depressed without them together. I play Shauna, who is one of Charlie’s students, who is a bit of a know-it-all. I didn’t get to meet Zooey because she wrapped the day before I worked, but Charlie was so funny and nice to work with!

What was it like on set of Merv and what was Shauna like to play?
Merv was fun! I got to meet one of the dogs that they had playing Merv. I think they had two or three that they had to give the same haircut and colour parts of their fur so that they looked the same, but they all knew different tricks. Jessica Swale was a great director to work with.
You played Charlie Forster in the 2024 thriller film Don’t Let Him Find You; what are some of your stand-out memories from this project?
I really enjoyed getting to know the cast and crew on this set! Christine Conradt, the director, was so nice! Brianna Cohen and Philip Boyd, who played my parents, taught me a lot while working with them. Also, John Castle, the person who kidnapped me, happened to be one of my acting coaches at the time. We didn’t know we were working together until we showed up on set, so that was fun!
How did you get into acting and was it always something you wanted to do professionally?
As a little kid, I wanted to be a veterinarian, but I was also always singing and dancing and making up characters. My parents put me in theatre when I was five and I loved it! Eventually I signed up for film/TV/commercial acting classes, and signed with my SE agent when I was nine. After my first time on set, I knew I wanted to keep doing it, and have been working on building my resume ever since!
Do you have any favourite films and TV shows to watch?
I’ve binged a lot of TV series, and one of my all-time favourites is Young Sheldon, it gave me a lot of laughs. I also really enjoyed The Middle. For movies, I have to say The Hunger Games because they are so good and I really liked the books too. Fun fact: I noticed that I have now worked on the same project with people from all of those shows/movies, which I am so thankful for!
How do you like to spend your free time?
I love crafting! I’ve always been into one craft or another, but lately I’ve been learning to crochet. I also take dance lessons, play Minecraft, and talk to Miriam (Spumpkin – Young Vanessa in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2) on FaceTime.
Is there anything you find most rewarding about being involved with acting?
So far, the most rewarding thing for me has been the people, cast and crew, that I get to meet on set, and all that I get to learn on set, and just being a part of some amazing projects. I’ve also made some of my best friends through acting!
What are you hoping 2026 brings for you and do you have any projects coming up that you can tell us about?
I definitely hope 2026 brings me more acting opportunities that challenge me the way Charlotte did, or even more. I do have a short film I worked on called 88.6 that is supposed to hit festivals next year. Other than that, I have started a podcast with my friend Luke Speakman from Weapons, where we interview other child actors, so that’s been fun to work on too!
