This Friday sees the release of Sicily Rose’s new single Ain’t Very Cowboy after releasing her first original song in country music last month called Leaving Montana. For both of Sicily’s original releases this year – Ain’t Very Cowboy and Leaving Montana – she has filmed music videos, and for her first release of the year, she covered Hands On You by Ashley Monroe, which she recorded at Blackbird Studio in Nashville. Sicily has plans for more music in 2024, and alongside her music career, she runs her successful TikTok account and self-titled YouTube channel, on which she uploads a variety of videos and vlogs. Chatting to Sicily, we found out about her upcoming release Ain’t Very Cowboy, her first original song in country music – Leaving Montana and her successful YouTube channel.

On 21st June, you will be releasing your new single Ain’t Very Cowboy, can you tell us about the song?

This song is about a boy who kind of pretends to be a cowboy to get girls and me letting him know what an actual cowboy is lol.

What are you looking forward to for the release and what do you hope listeners take from the lyrics?

I am so excited for the release. It was a ton of fun writing, recording and doing the music video! I loved it. I hope everyone else does too.

How was it releasing Leaving Montana last month and having it be your first original song in country music?

It was so exciting. Everyone seemed to love it and I was so happy that it was my first original into country music. It was so relevant to my life as I just moved to Nashville to pursue music full time. It is so exciting but scary also.

Where did the inspiration come from for Leaving Montana and how long were you working on it?

I started working on Leaving Montana in February, when I made the decision to move to Nashville. So I just thought about how I was feeling and then just dove deep into those feelings.

What was it like filming the Leaving Montana and Ain’t Very Cowboy music videos?

It was amazing. The video team I work with have been so amazing. They truly always listen to my thoughts and what I’m looking for on stuff and execute it perfectly. I’m so excited for you to see Ain’t Very Cowboy!!

For your first release of the year, you covered Hands On You by Ashley Monroe, how did you decide to cover this song and what was it like to record?

I love that song so much. It is also the first song I ever learned on guitar. I loved recording it at Blackbird Studio in Nashville and getting to sing it. It was a wonderful experience.

How did you get into music and who do you think your songs will appeal to?

My family is very musical so I always knew I wanted to be a part of the music world.

You run your own YouTube channel, is there anything you enjoy most about vlogging and have you had any favourite memories from being a YouTuber over the years?

I love vlogging, I think it really lets my fans get to know me on another level.

Had you always wanted to upload your own videos and do you have any upcoming YouTube plans?

I did always want to do videos. Mostly I am pushing music through on everything I do so I’m trying to push my music as much as I can on those things. šŸ˜€

We understand you have also worked as a model, can you tell us about this?

I started modelling at a very young age. I loved it. I have been signed all over and loved every second.

What are some of your favourite music artists to listen to and how do you like to spend your time away from your career?

I absolutely love Kacey Musgraves, Zach Bryan and Carly Pearce. When I’m not doing music, you can find me home in Montana on my horse Cowboy. šŸ˜€

Do you have any career plans coming up that you can tell us about and what are you hoping 2024 brings for you?

Right now I’m working on getting as much music as I possibly can out. And hoping and praying to get some attention from labels this year!
