We spoke to Terrence, who told us about voicing John Patrick ‘Pat’ Patterson in horror Dreamworks animation Fright Krewe, being part of the animated sitcom Everybody Still Hates Chris playing Drew Rock and his time as Miles Macklin / AWOL in the live-action series Danger Force.

As a voiceover actor, you voice John Patrick ‘Pat’ Patterson in Fright Krewe, how would you describe your character and how has it been developing the role across the two series aired so far?

I would describe Patrick as the glue that holds the Krewe together. He’s also very resourceful when it comes to the Krewe’s problems with evil doers not only because of the loa that chose him, Papa Legba, but his aunt is also a powerful, spiritual woman who is always teaching him about his ancestors and spirits. It’s been a fun, collaborative effort between me, the showrunners, and the directors. Pat is a sweetheart, and a bit of a worrier, so our biggest concerns have always been making sure that that comes through on screen.

Can you tell us about Fright Krewe and what does a typical day look like in the recording studio for you when voicing Pat?

Fright Krewe is an animated show based in Louisiana that’s centred around a group of teenagers who have to come together to fight against an ancient evil being that’s threatening their town… and the world as they know it.

Well, starting from when I enter the studio, I’ll greet everyone and after that is when the actual recording session will start. I’ll enter the booth and start the recording process.

How has it been seeing the success and fan response to Fright Krewe, and how did you feel attending and being nominated for Outstanding Younger Voice Performer in a Preschool, Children’s or Young Teen Program at the 2025 Children’s & Family Emmy Awards?

Seeing the success and fan responses to the show has been amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed playing my part in creating the show and fell in love with the lore, themes, and characters during that process so to know that people enjoy it just as much as me, if not more, makes me very happy.

That nomination was such a deeply gratifying moment for me because as an actor it’s never guaranteed that your work will be recognised in such a way so for people to think my performance was good enough to be nominated means the absolute world to me.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the animated sitcom Everybody Still Hates Chris as Drew Rock?

What I enjoy most about being a part of Everybody Still Hates Chris is the fact that the original show was and still is one of my favourite shows ever created. So to be a part of the continuation and get to work with so many of the actors from the original series is a dream come true.

As you mentioned, you were very familiar with the live-action sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, who do you think the animated show will appeal to?

Yes, very, very familiar, lol. Everybody Hates Chris was one of my favourite shows growing up.

I believe Everybody Still Hates Chris will appeal to everyone because it’s still that same old funny show for the family to watch but now we’re going after the attention of a younger audience with our new animated approach to the show.

How did you prepare for taking on the role of Drew and what is he like to voice?

All of the preparation had been done before there was even an opportunity to play Drew in Everybody Still Hates Chris because I was and still am a genuine fan of the original show.

What was it like voicing Flash Fireson in Series 1 of Firebuds for Disney Jr?

It was amazing, I learned so much recording that series and met so many great people that I still keep in touch with today. I wouldn’t trade that time in my life for anything.

You have also voiced Ronathan in Madagascar: A Little Wild and Arthur Twist in Ada Twist, Scientist, can you tell us about your time working on both shows?

Well, my time working on both shows was interesting in a good way because I was actually working on both of them at around the same time. So, due to the fact that they were both very different characters, I would always have to make sure that I was dialled in and present when it came time to record to ensure that I wasn’t mixing up the characters’ traits and characteristics.

Across every episode of Nickelodeon’s Danger Force (and the last few episodes of the original series Henry Danger), you co-starred as Miles Macklin / AWOL, how did you find the experience playing a lead character in a major live-action series for Nickelodeon and do you remember how you felt booking the role?

I found the experience to be extremely fun and such a blessing. I learned things on that set that I will never forget when it comes to acting and even my day-to-day life. And the people I met will always have a place in my heart because we were truly like a big happy family that just so happened to work together.

Of course I remember how I felt booking the role, that was truly one of the happiest moments in my life. Me and my mom were sitting outside of an ice cream shop when we received the news and all we could do was scream and hug each other with excitement because we knew our lives were about to change for the better.

What was it like getting into costume/character for Miles Macklin / AWOL and how was it filming a crossover episode with Side Hustle, That Girl Lay Lay, Warped! and Young Dylan?

I would say I loved dressing up like Miles because Ms. Kris, who was the head of the wardrobe department, made sure I stayed fresh and I loved to see what she was going to pick for me every week.

The crossover episode was dope because they were all people I either knew or was already friends with.

What are some of your stand-out memories from filming for Danger Force over the years and how was it working with the rest of the cast?

Some of the times that stood out to me would definitely be when we would not be able to stop laughing on set, which was very often, lol. The laughter made it fun, even during the rough patches.

What was Kareem like to play in the 2020 Netflix film Coffee & Kareem, and how was it starring alongside Ed Helms as Coffee?

That was soooooo fun. It was my first big thing and I was nervous but Mr. Ed made it fun and funny. He is an amazing person and actor.

Did you have any favourite scenes to film in Coffee & Kareem and what was it like on set?

At that time, being 11 going on 12, the strip club scene was everything and more, lol. But I also really enjoyed filming the school scene, that was amazing. Being on set was so cool, I got to spend a lot of time with Mama T (Miss Taraji P. Henson), RonReaco Lee and everyone else in the cast and they would really just have fun all day and when we weren’t having fun they were talking to me about things that helped me in my career and in the industry.

How was it having a guest role in Disney’s part-improvised series Just Roll With It in 2019?

I loved it because it was really my first time being on set with lots of other children.

For a number of years, you have attended the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, what is the event like to attend?

It’s really exciting to see all the people you watch on TV. And even some people that you never imagined you would meet in person. And then to top it all off, the afterparty is ALWAYS fire!

Where does your love of acting come from and how did you get into it?

I think it started with watching Henry Danger and wanting to be in that man cave to press those buttons soooooo bad.

What are some of your favourite films and TV shows to watch?

I love Snowfall, Power, Abbott Elementary and stand-up comedy.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Playing basketball, working out, listening to music and watching TV with my mother.

Do you have any projects coming up that you can talk about and what are you hoping this year brings for you?

None that I can talk about right now but some things are in the works. I want this year to be prosperous for everyone with a dream. But for myself I want to play a major superhero in a biiiiiiiiig motion movie and do some directing, that would be a dream come true for me.
